Clearly, we knew war shots were not filmed in Vietnam, but how did they achieve such realistic settings? Turns out, the swamps, jungle and muddy ground were a combination of CGI and a real life golf course. Yes, in fact, they shot the Vietnam war scene just off South Carolina’s coast on a Fripp Island golf course. That’s how they achieved the green, earthy feel of the Vietnam jungle. Amazing!
