Now, of course there was M*A*S*H before JAG, but something about this military themed show stood out. Again, if you’ve forgotten the show stands for Judge Advocate General. Back in 1995, this hit show came out and lasted a whole 10 seasons! Anyway, we all miss the stars Catherine Bell and David James Elliott dearly, but it’s time to expose some behind the scenes info, you probably never knew!

Fateful Coin Toss

Maybe the first thing you think of when recalling JAG was one of the final moments. Yes, we’re talking about the dramatic coin toss at the end to see where Harm and Mac would end up. However, you probably didn’t know that the very coin Bud tossed was truly unique. On the top side it said Judge Advocate General, with the years 1995-2005 on the coin’s bottom. Of course, those years commemorated the years JAG aired.

Reused Footage

Not everything on JAG was completely original content. Actually, they recycled some footage from hit films in order to save some money. As a Paramount production they were able to utilize any studio footage. Thus, for Naval action they turned to footage from movies like, Top Gun, The Hunt for Red October, Flight of the Intruder and even Clear and Present Danger.
