It was during his off hours, that Mr. Rogers would leave the WQED studios at lunch breaks in order to study theology at the nearby Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. However, he just was no longer interested in preaching; therefore after his ordination, he specifically charged to continue his work with Children’s Television.

Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood first aired in 1968 and ran for a whopping 895 episodes; while the last set of the newest episodes was taped in December 2000 and aired in August 2001. At its peak, during 1985, 8% of American households sat down and tuned into the show.
