Well, who needs good health insurance coverage when you have a brother to do the active scenes for you? We’re kidding. Well, half kidding, since Tom Hanks really did use his brother for the running parts of the movie. In real life, Tom Hanks was not a habitual runner, but Jim Hanks was a runner! Thankfully, he resembled his brother Tom a lot so they used Jim whenever Forrest has to run long-distance. Run, Jim run!

Keeping Things Consistent
One of the most charming parts of the film is watching Forrest grow from sweet, innocent boy to man. Perhaps, you did not notice, but the crew was careful to keep one thing consistent during the transition. Each transition, graceful and subtle, kept Forrest wearing that signature blue plaid shirt.
