As young children, of course the twins didn’t understand that they were being compensated for their roles on the show. Much like any other toddlers, they responded well to being bribed with candy and gummy bears when they became stubborn about saying their lines. Dave Coulier, who played Uncle Joey, said that red gummy bears were their favorite, and would always get them to say their signature catchphrase: “You got it, dude.”

Negotiating On Their Behalf

Dave Olsen, the twins’ father, hired a lawyer to manage them from early on in their careers. He ended up hiring Robert Thorne, who immediately got to work to negotiate their contracts on Full House, bumping up their salaries from $4000 an episode to $25,000 per episode. He later negotiated their first TV movie It Takes Two, and then created a production company in their names, which meant they became the youngest ever Hollywood producers at age 6. They went on to star in countless more films like Passport to Paris, Winning London, Our Lips Are Sealed, and New York Minute.
