About the Titanic
The RMS Titanic was first advertised as the first ship of its kind, although that was not really accurate. It was however, the first super cruise liner and was nicknamed “The Queen of the Ocean.” It had the reputation of being unsinkable, which was absolutely incorrect.
J. Bruce Ismay was the chairman and managing director of White Star Line, a British Shipping Company that had many passenger liners, including the RMS Titanic. He was facing a tough job of transforming the company while battling against rival companies. This was known as the transoceanic cruiser wars, and every company was trying to come out on top.
